Is Your Sea Moss pool grown?
Absolutely No! Unfortunately, this is a common question that has been rooted in misinformation that has spread for years on the internet. We have been procuring and selling sea moss since 2018 and we have seen zero evidence of any widespread practice (or any at all) of sea moss being grown in a pool.
The earth is over 70% ocean water and seaweeds like sea moss naturally grow all over the world. During this time, we’ve sourced sea moss from the Caribbean, Africa, South America, and Asia. There's no need — and frankly it would be a significant expense — to pool-grow sea moss when it can be harvested freely from the ocean (aside from labor).
What people often confuse as “fake” sea moss is typically a different species from Asia that is thick, moist, and heavily salted. While it's low quality, it is still real ocean-grown sea moss. This salt isn’t natural sea salt but is added to preserve moisture and extend shelf life. That, plus high water content, can cause a foul “ocean” smell. It may look different, but it’s not fake — just inferior.
To provide full transparency, we’ve included a short video showing actual diver footage of our sea moss being harvested from marine protected waters in the Caribbean.
I've always soaked my Sea Moss and it didn’t soften. What happened?
Sea moss is a sea vegetable and varies naturally by batch. One batch may soften in 12 hours, another may take 24–36. If soaking doesn’t work, try the warm/hot water method. The sea moss MUST be soft and gelatinous before blending into a gel. If it's still hard, it won’t blend properly — period.
Does heat kill minerals in sea moss?
No. Minerals like iodine, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron are heat-stable. You can safely prepare our sea moss using warm or hot water without reducing its mineral value.
Do you lab test your sea moss?
Yes, we do. We periodically lab test for both micro and heavy metals to ensure your safety and product quality.
